Crape Jasmine a shrub very common in India, generally grows to a height of 6 ft. However, it can also grow into a small tree with thin, crooked stem. Like many members of the Oleander family, stems exude a milky latex when broken.  The large shiny leaves are deep green and are 6 or more inches in length and about 2 inches in width. Crape jasmine blooms in spring but flowers appear sporadically all year. The waxy blossoms are white five-petaled pinwheels that are borne in small clusters on the stem tips. Flowers are commonly used in pooja ( Religious ceremony)  in north and south India. 












A jasmine tree can be placed close to the house – as near as 3 or 4 feet away. If you are planting a row or grouping, place them 3 to 5 feet apart. Give it a spot sheltered from winter winds. Crape Jasmine will grow in large containers as long as watering a regular and sufficient.  Crape jasmine is a fast growing, tropical shrub or small tree 8-15 ft high and about 6 ft or more wide. Prune lightly to shape and to maintain desired size. Crepe jasmine is an attractive evergreen tree with gree twigs and milky sap. 













The shiny, opposite, dark green leaves 3-6 inches long, are ovate and pointed, narrowing into a short stem and clasps the twig. The white, waxy flowers with five or six lobes are 1-2 inches in diameter. They have some fragrance at night and are produced most of the year. ‘’ Flore Pleno ( butter fly gardenia) is a form with clusters of pure white, lacy double flowers and wavy, narrow leaves. ‘’ Grandifolia is a cultivars with larger leaves and double flowers.
Double-Flowering Crape Jasmine – clusters of fragrant, frilly bright white blooms are backed by large, shiny deep green leaves. Use as a screen or hedge. The wonderful sweet fragrance is most pronounced in the everning, Evergreen with large, shiny, deep green leaves.













Crape jasmine flowers are white five petaled flowers are also called ‘’ Pinwheel’’ see, the petals are arranged like the leaves of a pinwheel. Flowering throughout  the year and it is very charming to see these in large groups, especially during early morning and evening when the light is less, as the white colors become outstanding. The flowers are used for preparing medicines for eye diseases and irritations. Moreover these are also used for ‘ poojas’ and in temples. Crape Jasmine is a common flowering, ornamental and medicinal plant of India and it is a shrub type of plant . In Bengali it is known as ‘Tagar’  and its scientific name is ‘ Tabernaemontana Divaricat’. Crape Jasmine plant blooming especially in spring season but in all year it blooms. It has sweet scent and mostly it has five fetals. Crape Jasmine needs regular watering for it growing. This plant use for medicine, this plant is known as herbal plant. The milk of leaves of this plant uses for making medicine of wounds. From its flower make eye drop for eye disease and also oil for skin disease.
