The Chinese Crested dog is a miniature dog breed was used extensively on ships to exterminate rats. The Chinese crested is believed to have descended from African dog called “ African Hairless Terriers”. The Chinese crested originated in China. One of several breeds in the world. The records details are seen in late 1800's. These dogs are hairless and power puff Chinese Crest, are useful as small companion dog. The nature of this tiny dog breed with sweet nature and happy temperament. 





The Chinese Crested dog comes in two varieties. The hairless has soft, silky hair on its head (crest), tall (plume) and feet (socks). Wherever the body is hairless the skin is soft and smooth with its silky coat. The power uff is entirely covered with a double soft, straight coat. The breed height 10-13 inches and weights 4.5 to 5.9 kg. The lifespan of breed is 12-14 years. Two distinct varieties can be born in the same litter : hairless – hair on the head, tail and feet only and powder puff – completely covered with hair. 















The powder puff requires frequent grooming to maintain a silky, flowing coat. The hairless variety requires frequent bathing to maintain healthy skin. Litters range from one to four puppies with an average of three. In a litter of four there are normally three hairless puppies and one powder puff. Chinese crested dogs thrive best on a balanced diet of dry food, fresh meat and raw bones. These dogs are loyal , equally suited to families.





The Chinese crested is fine-boned and slender, among the most elegant and graceful of breeds. It is slightly longer than tall. Its gait is lively and agile. It has an alert, intense expression. The Chinese crested is a combination of playful pixie, gentle lap dog and sensitive companion. It is devoted to its family and willing to please. The Chinese crested is  well-mannered, sensible and steady dog, who is sweet and fairly sociable.
